r.i.p. chi-chi
there is a dead run over cat right infront of 149 s. daniel morgan avenue. this cat happens to be the kitten rachel and i have been loving from afar for the past month. this cat also happens to be the kitten we named chi-chi LAST NIGHT. we saw chi-chi first after last months advisory meeting, and scanned our brains for whether either of us had tuna to offer his hungry butt. then we saw chi-chi at venus pie, near the dumpster and considered getting him some chicken pizza. last night we saw chi-chi thru the fence, his sweet little face peering down thru the fence bars.
then this morning i thought i recognized that sweet striped tail that set chi-chi apart from his peers, sticking up from a flattened mound of mush on daniel morgan. i asked nicholas what was in the road because i didn’t want to look and understood from his long pause that it was indeed dear chi-chi.
why can there be nothing sweet and good here? as soon as i decide to love something it gets dead, not like off in the woods where you’re not sure what happened to it, but flattened IN FRONT OF YOUR HOUSE a clear view out RACHEL’S WINDOW!
boo!
here, arielle recreates chi-chi’s final resting pose as i don’t have the nerve or the stomach to post the photos taken of what is left of chi-chi butt, the actual dead cat on daniel morgan.
