look at how happy all those people are. look really closely. their joy is incredible.

i didn’t see manny’s game winning 3 run homer, but now i remember why the sox have such a hold on us. they mend hearts just as well as they bust hearts and minds. i probably would have cried if i had witnessed this most successfull “baby i swear i love you. take me back” move from the most hot and cold boyfriend maybe in all of baseball. earlier in the week while watching game 1 at venus pie, my favorite viewing spot here in the spiz (the kid with the hair is a sox fan, the actual pie maker is all for the yankees, and still they manage to serve pizza together everynight during the playoffs! rock!), i tried explaining the magic of manny to rachel. i told her about how alot of the time he just knows when he’s done it. that ball takes off and he just steps back and watches it. and then he starts sort of jogging around the bases. this hit, this glorious play, is perhaps the greatest example of the manny magic moment. ever. in his life as a sock. so i am glad i was in the car coming back from an afternoon in charlotte, and not bawling and jumping up and down at venus pie publicly embarrassing myself, instead reading about it on the internet (after a text message from amanda) and looked at the slide show on boston.com. truth be told i tear up just looking at the game photos. omfg.
